Dear Flamborough Hills Member and Friend of Neo-Natal;
For the twelfth year in a row, the Birdies For Babies Charity Golf Tournament, in support of the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at McMaster's Children's Hospital, will be held on Wednesday August 27th, 2008. This year's tournament will be held at Flamborough Hills Golf and Country Club in Copetown.
The NICU has a special place in my heart as my son Zachery would not be alive today without the care he received immediately after birth. Only an experimental procedure saved his life and after six weeks in Intensive Care, he was pronounced healthy enough to go home.
The proceeds from this year's event will be put towards a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Transport Incubator. This state of the art piece of equipment will allow the safe transfer of babies from the NICU at McMaster to the MRI Scanning room in the Radiology Department for diagnostic imaging of newborns, especially unstable premature infants.
The purpose of this letter is to request your assistance in raising funds for this deserving charity by participating in this year's event. Your support will impact those who need it most - PATIENTS. Please make your cheques payable to "Birdies For Babies".
